the house hunt begins
I met with a mortgage broker yesterday to check my credit out, give me some options on loans, see what my payments will be, etc. In short, it went extremely well. Turns out I have muthafuckin’ bitch-ass credit, so I get to look into the dankest loans. I feel smarter now, too, since I learned all about the intricacies of mortgages and credit. Credit reports are kinda scary. They show all the places you’ve worked, all your addresses, all the credit cards you’ve already had along with any late payments. And what’s also interesting is the three major credit bureaus in the US have the right to sell your information to people unless you tell them in writing not to. They don’t give it all out, but they do give out your address, phone number, and a general idea of your credit score. That’s why after applying for a card, or getting your credit pulled, you’ll often receive a flurry of offers in the mail. So anyway, now I have their addresses so I can write to them and request they kindly not give away my personal information. I will obviously put much thought into those letters, making sure I’m as eloquent as possible. Something like…
“Dear Equifax,
Lick me where I pee.
”
So now I get to start browsing for houses.
